Why the Waqf ?
There are many noble goals to make a waqf. These goals flow from the faith of the giver and his seeking to be rewarded in this life here and in the hereafter. These objectives include:
First goal
The Almighty Allah’s Reward (Exalted be He): The giver seeks to satisfy God and asks for His paradise through the good deeds generated by this gift in his life and after his death.
Second goal
Realizing the principle of social solidarity among the members of the Ummah and finding a balance between the rich and the poor: the waqf aims to regularize life by providing the poor with a decent living and by helping the poor while preserving their dignity, without to harm the rich, thus generating affection, fraternity, and stability.
The waqf consolidates the bonds of love, kinship, and Muslim brotherhood, and these have good repercussions on the offspring, the parents, and members of the big family as well as on the beneficence’s aspects.
Third goal
A waqf guarantees that the money stays and is protected as long as possible and kept to the detriment of those who do not use it properly. It ensures society a kind of economic prosperity and a livelihood guarantee.
Fourth goal
To spread the spirit of cooperation and fraternity among Muslims. The dissemination of charitable donations and public goods has helped to teach moderation, love, and compassion among Muslims and to alleviate feelings and mental illnesses related to egoism and greed among hate donors and emotions of hatred and envy among vulnerable people. Thus, social relations are based on cooperation, the exchange of mutual benefit, love, compassion, and mercy, and sincerity.

The independence of scientists. The Waqf for scientists, preachers and science students leads to the independence of these and that no one affects them in their livelihood. Scientists have been more daring than ever before. Colonialism and tyrants were aware of this advantage. As a result, they reduced it by lowering prices to sell existing awqaf. This led to the ulema’s reliance on government bodies that put pressure on them through salaries. These scholars have thus become allies of these governments.
